Skin radiance

December 11, 2012

When winter approaches many women start fretting about dry skin, both on the face and the body. Our beauty and wellness Consultant speaks to Limkokwing University’s Mercy Thebe to find out how she manages to look good all seasons.

Q.How do you keep your skin looking so radiant?

.I have three-step regime for my face and I exfoliate once a week. I also use body butter with exfoliator to give my skin a glow. I also use a crème body wash for bathing as it leaves my skin soft and moist.

Q.What would you advice those with dry skin?

.Tissue oil is the best remedy for dry skin and not only in winter, all year round. It moisturises and repairs your skin. It can also be used on the face.

Q. What products do you use on your body to keep the skin moisturised and even-toned?

.I love Palmers products, I use their gel for the day and Cocoa butter at night.

Q. Can you share with us any of your beauty secret that have worked for you

.Here is a simple remedy that works for me and my skin. Drink rooibos tea with lemon, day and night. It gives your skin a glow and not only that, it also kills anti-oxidants and revives the skin too.

Q. Nowadays, you get body scrubs, wraps and so forth. Do you do any of the body treatments and how do they help the skin?

.Body scrubs work but you need to find the one that is suitable for your skin type. You can visit Spa for a body wrap, which relaxes muscles and detoxifies the skin. Some people react badly when using body scrubs as their skin becomes too dry, so rather get a brand that will work well with your own particular skin.

KUTLWANO TIPS

Visit a Spa once a month for a body treatment. It will help your skin glowing.

.Drink at-least eight glasses of water a day.

.Add a few drops of essential oils when bathing such as lavender, jasmine or olive foam bath oil to moisturise your skin.
