They happily greeted him and gave him the food that they were carrying in their container. When he reached home RraMasandura started vomiting and showing serious sings of illness.

There was once a peaceful place called Tsorokatsa. Tsorokatsa was a quite small village where everyone knew everybody’s business. The people of Tsorokatsa were rural and hey depended entirely on tilling the land for food and rearing of livestock. One can say they were a peaceful and cooperative group who enjoyed a quiet life. In this village lived three mentally handicapped men who many people did not want to associate with. The trio, Zoko, Ndoi and Bura were homeless and went from one homestead to another looking for food. They were always untidy, had an unpleasant smell, untidy hair and running noses. For this reason many people shunned them.

In the village also lived a kind old man called Rra Masandura. He lived with his wife and they had no children. Rra Masandura took the three handicapped men, loved and cared for them as if they were his really children. Every morning they went to his home and he could hear them as they come from a distance making funny noise. They would sing loudly and foolishly and also laugh at nothing in particular. Rra Masandura would milk the cow and give them plenty of milk and prepare porridge for them. The three men were for ever thanking Rra Masandura for taking them as his own children. “You are so kind, whatever you do for us you do it for yourself’

The sad thing was that his wife hated the three men very much but did not show it. She pretended to be good only to please her husband.

One day it happened that the cows did not come which meant no milk for RraMasandura’s family. The old man woke up early in the morning mounted on the back of his horse and went to look for them. His wife remained behind and promised to welcome the three men. As usual the three men came. When they got to Rra Masandura’s house his wife pretended to be good and prepared plenty of food for them. After finishing their meal, the wife told them to wait for her to put more in their containers before they go. While she was in the house in secrecy she poured some poisonous in their foods and gave it to them. They said to her “You are so kind, whatever you do for us you do it for yourself’

On their way they met RraMasandura on his way back, he was tired and very hungry. They happily greeted him and gave him the food that they were carrying in their container. When he reached home RraMasandura started vomiting and showing serious sings of illness. Her wife did not know what to do, she asked him, “What is it that you have eaten that makes you so ill?” “I..I.. have eaten the food from., those handicapped men.” She could not believe it. This is the food in which she poured the poisonous medicine. Unfortunately the husband died. This is a lesson that we should all learn from. The wife’s evil heart has cost her husband’s life.
