The affair
Author : Lee Child
Reviewer: Tefo Nombolo
Publishers: Bantam Press
This is a fast paced novel which keeps the reader on the edge. From the first page, it is very clear that not all is as it seems which cultivates the curiosity and mystery surrounding the events that take place in the book. Lee Child manages to pull of reconciling the present-past-present events which take place in the book through the technique of a ‘flash back’; something that many authors fail at miserably.
The relationship between the main character and one of the minor characters runs smoothly and compliments the title of the book brilliantly. Suspense, investigation and action flow constantly throughout this book which makes it a true page turner.
