Teedza Koga is a collection of Kalanga poetry published in 2012. The publication is very well put together with excellent use of rich Kalanga language. Topics range from Ludo (love), Ikalanga (Sekalaka), Zwa ti noo bona (tse re ta di bonang) and koo lulwama (go tlaa siama).
Considering that there are very few Kalanga publications to refer to, the author did a fantastic job of constructing the stanzas and sentences very well with the proper use of tenses and grammar. The book is a great read for Kalanga enthusiasts and those wishing to learn the Ikalanga language. Given the way the book is structured, it would also make an excellent read to those wishing to study Kalanga as one of the many African languages as there are questions below every poem to check for the reader`s understanding. The book certainly goes beyond just educating as the author infuses a bit of humor in his writing without compromising on any of the expected standards of creative and poetic writing.
