FORMER MISS BOTSWANA << ROSEMARY KEOFITLHETSE

Hey Rose, what is the beauty queen up to this festive season?

I have a lot I`m working on before I fly out of the country for a holiday; I have projects lined up before the end of this year. I am working on renovating the Day Care Center at BCW. I am also working on organising a blood donation week for the youth. I will be working more with young people on issues of road safety as well, you see it`s a whole lot of work!

Do you usually buy new clothes for Christmas? Please briefly share your childhood memories of Christmas

Shopping is one of my favorites so every itty bitty chance I get as an excuse is used to the maximum. Not that I wear new clothes on Christmas but yeah a lot of shopping is done. My childhood memories include having a big family feast in Shakawe and Maun, also being an angel during the Christmas story play at church

Do you know how to slaughter a chicken?

Both my Grandmothers in Shakawe and in Hukuntsi will tell you I`m still afraid of live chickens up to this day. Now I can`t imagine having to kill one or anything bigger. I would cry!

BONOLO FRAIZER>> CENTRE CHIEFS PLAYER

What`s your festive season message for Batswana?

Festive season is always fun around family. It`s a time to get together and enjoy each other, and it would be nice to celebrate it in good health with nil road accidents.

What are your new year`s resolutions?

I have a lot in my mind now, I wish to expand my career, try my luck outside in international football. I wish for our football here to be professional. This will boost morale and encourage players to work harder and deliver exceptionally. 2014 is a new season for Botswana Football and we must all work together towards its improvement - supporters, sponsors and all stakeholders involved.

PASTOR  << JOEL ‘NTSORO` KEITUMETSE

What does Christmas mean to you?

Mmm... mma ke bone…(pause) Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ, its the days to celebrate with family including extended ones. For me it`s the time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and be renewed again…fa go ne go na le disquable le bomalome mo nakong e dia a fela, go nna monate-nate! It is a time for families to unite and enjoy each other.

I will visit Shoshong where I was born and then Kanye where my mother is married and Ramotswa kwa bogogwadi jwame and then celebrate with my church. And afterwards I will be flying to China where I usually go every year with my sweetheart.

What are your New Year`s Resolutions?

Heela, next year is full of blessings for me. I will be acting on Mareledi television programme ke le monna yo o thubang malwapa. I`ll pause on comedy for now because people tend to think I`m joking even when I am serious… I will not do comedy.

Normally during festive season goats, cows, chickens are slaughtered; can you slaughter any of those?

I don`t know how a goat is slaughtered but I am the greatest of spectators! Hah! haah! (Laughs) I used to know how a chicken is slaughtered but that has since gone.

What is your festive message for Batswana?

One thing I can assure you, your today will never be like your tomorrow, it is brighter! The cloud of blessing is upon us this season, it`s a matter of getting in the right position and positioning yourself to gain. If not bus e a go feta, check your satellite. If your satellite is in a wrong position you won`t be able to  watch channels check your antenna!... Remember to exercise your civil rights, register to vote.

Your Life Lesson: I believe that it is risky not to take a risk. I am a risk taker myself, and if you don`t take a risk, your success chances in life equal your level of risk taking.

KABELO MOGWE >> CULTURE SPEARS LEAD MAN

Hi Kabelo, what does Christmas mean to you?

Christmas means the birth of Christ, and for me I usually have it on stage. I wouldn`t say I have Christmas, I never have Christmas, I`m always on festivals, on tours. And now my family is used to me being away but it`s not too bad because my wife is always with me. We are launching Ekentolo Vol. 5, ‘Chomi yame Tour` which started in September. It will end on January 1, 2014.

What are your New Year resolutions for 2014?

Next year we are releasing Culture Spears, we are bringing a different band. This year we want to shoot live performances, our support base keeps on increasing even internationally. When we were in America, when AU was turning 40, mafatshe a ne a tsena ka dipina tsa rona, Lesotho, Zambia, South Africa

Do you usually buy new clothes for Christmas? Please briefly share your childhood memories of Christmas?

We are always busy and we have no time to shop. Clothes are not my kind of thing. My wife usually buys, we buy for our kids and parents. During my childhood days re ne re e ja rice, re eja sweet-aid, o tlhola o itumetse letsatsi lotlhe, le lebelela di football tournaments, ka ko Letlhakane la Boteti

Normally during festive season goats, cows, chickens are slaughtered; can you slaughter any of those?

I know how to slaughter a goat, I know how to milk a cow, when you talk Setswana you are talking me, ke ngwana wa Setswana. When I was young, neighbours used to call me to slaughter for them, and they always appreciated. Right now things are different, we are always busy on the road to perform, I miss those days..

What is your Festive season message for Batswana?

Let`s take care of ourselves, dikotsi tsa tsela a di fokotsege, neighbours o fitlhela ba seyo ba bolailwe ke dikotsi tsa dikoi. Maitshwaro a rona ke one a dirileng gore bagolwane ba rona ba change melao. A batho ba itshware sentle.

SINGER << MAXY

It`s wonderful to meet you again Mmagauta, tell us, where will you celebrate this festive season, both Christmas and New Year (2014) and with whom?

I can`t specify now as I`m still confirming my music bookings, but if I`m free I always take my family out on a date or my mother always cook her special recipe that we all love and we all laugh with joy as we celebrate the days together.

Spending festive season away from your family, mmmh…how do you feel about that?

Obviously it`s hurting although we will be communicating throughout the entire day, but I`m blessed because my family understands my work and they are very supportive, after all, the work pays our bills during the January and February months when everybody will be empty pocketed and crying broke….hahahaaa!!!

Do you usually buy new clothes for Christmas? Please share your Christmas childhood memories.

Hahahaa!! As a child yes because I`m the only child at home, so it was my mom`s norm to buy me both Christmas and new year clothes…..nowadays I don`t because it`s my daughter`s turn “Gauta``, she`s getting all spoilt, but I do get gifts from my partner and my family….even Gauta does get me a gift all the time.

Normally during festive season goats, cows, chickens are slaughtered; can you slaughter any of those?

Sorry!! I just enjoy eating them but i just can`t stand a life being killed…….I get too emotional towards it…..but my family usually does occasionally slaughter some for celebrations.  END
