MUSIC REVIEW -- PART B

Author : Lesego Bogatsu

Artist: THABANG
Album: MORATIWA NKAMOGELE…

Presented by: OFF CAMPUS EVENTS

Sleeve Design: JJ GRAPHICS

The sleeve cover of Thabang`s Afro-jazz - Moratiwa Nkamogele album is enough to grab one`s attention. It is simple but classic at the same time.  This is one of the best Afro-Jazz albums ever produced in Botswana. Brilliant voice that is reminiscent of legends like Bonjo Mosele, the late Malombo and Banjo, who`s music still has relevance. Every track in this offering has a tempo and melody that are just perfect for slow, relaxed dancing. Creative sophistication is revealed through every beat as fusion of different percussions and lyrics are observed. Songs to look out for are Moratiwa Nkamogele, Monna Tia, Ikatle o gole, Monna Ga Awe Wa Sekama, Ke Lemogile and Se Bolae Mosadi. Thabang`s romantic motivational vibe is the ‘never die` one, music that is made with love to stay in the hearts of many forever. Do not loose out, you won`t regret buying this one.

Artist: VEE MAMPEEZY

Album: SUPERNATURAL vol 1

Produced by: ODIRILE ‘VEE` SENTO & ELISHA SENTO

Mastered at: LAYERD PRODUCTION

Another one from the adorable award winning man of God who needs no introduction whatsoever. Redeemed by the only one who`s words can catch a falling star - God. It takes hardwork and dedication to be the best above the rest, Vee Mampeezy is one artist that always sets a trend and maintains it. He has redeemed and justified himself after nearly going astray with his previous offering – 2012 LP. He is returning with a release of 13 excellently done gospel tracks which has received  good air play on both radio and television stations, locally and outside the country.  It`s been too long since we had something to waist-jostle us. This album is like a roller coaster, it will shake you slowly but will surely get you sweating especially when listening to songs like Baba, Re A Dibusa, Eita, Happy Birthday in which Vee testifies that it is his birthday because he is born again. The other tracks are also very nice.  The inside of the sleeve has an interesting stylish design and layout . The whole design of the album sleeve is brilliant. Truth be told, most of Vee`s  final presentation of his work, on stage and off stage, you name the place and occasion, - brilliance, classic! Something a lot of artists must watch and learn. This album was truely worth a wait.

Congratulations Mr Sento on your BOMU awards.

This is a gate way to PLK`s first album, Life Time Music. Kotlopisa is a Motswako track that proofs that this lad is climbing the musical leader on the lit side. This single is heavily pop, even r`nb inspired. Let us wait and see what the album dishes out to us. ENDS
