Rape and Us is a book which teaches about three types of gruesome, aggressive criminal acts. Defined in the Oxford English dictionary as “to have sexual intercourse with someone without his or her consent - Rape.” The author, Pastor Petros Nonkonyana, discusses defilement, incest and date rape in short stories heavily influenced by real and crucial events that happen mostly in villages. Police Stations, hospitals, courts and trauma centers are always filled up with cases of rape each and every day. In this fantastic but yet mischieviously drastic and difficult maze of a word we live in, one must be careful not to set their foot in danger. We must all be each other’s keeper and talk about issues that concern the well-being and happiness of all God’s creation. This will lessen bad cases such as rape. Let us talk about sex, our emotions, issues of violence and most of all everyone should know what is wrong and what is right.
