How high do you want to rise?

Author : Russ Molosiwa

MY QUESTIONS TO YOU ARE: How high do you want to rise?  Do you want to continue to increase?  Do you want to see more of God`s blessings and favour?  If so, the higher you go, the more disciplined you must be; the quicker you must obey.  If you`re hanging around people who compromise and cheat on their spouses and have no integrity, you`re just asking for trouble.

“Well, Mokanoki, they are good people, and their conduct doesn`t affect me.  It doesn`t seem to hurt me one bit.”

No, you don`t know how much your association with them is holding you back.  You don`t know what God wants to release, but He cannot and will not until you get away from those negative influences.  If you will do as He says, you will see God`s favour in a new way, and your entire life will rise to a higher level.

Understand, the longer we delay dealing with a character issue, the more difficult it is to do later on.  You`d be far better off if you`d learn to obey God`s promptings quickly.  The moment you feel the uneasiness, the moment an inner alarm sounds and something says, This isn`t right, take the proper steps to move away from that action, comment, or attitude.  That may well be God talking to you-trying to keep you on His best path for your life.

God has given us our own free will.  He will not force us to do what is right.  He won`t force us to make good decisions.  It`s up to each one of us individually to pay attention to the still, small voice; we mustn`t get so busy or self-directed that we miss what God is trying to tell us.  Learn to act on His leading.

God`s directions often affect the most practical aspects of our lives.  I read a testimony in one of Joel Osteen`s book about a young woman that felt a strong urge to go to the doctor to get a medical check-up.  She looked as healthy as could be, she was active and energetic, and she exercised regularly.  Nevertheless, the feeling persisted:  Go see the doctor.  Go get a check-up.  That still, small voice was speaking to her.  For several weeks.  She ignored it and put it off, thinking, Oh I`m fine. That`s not a message for me.

But she couldn`t get away from it.  She finally decided to schedule an appointment with her doctor.  During a routine check-up, the doctor discovered a small cyst in her body and found that it was malignant.  Thankfully, he was able to remove the malignancy completely, because it hadn`t spread. The young woman required no further treatment.  But after the operation, the doctor told her, “It`s a good thing you came in when you did, because a couple of years later, this could have been a major problem, possibly even life-threatening.”

The young woman was so grateful.  She later told Joel Osteen, “I know that was God.  I would not have gone to the doctor for that check-up had it not been for God`s promptings.”
We need to listen to the still, small voice.  God knows what`s best for us.

Have a nice day yours faithfully, Mokanoki.
