Lesego Chombo wins big

Chombo was the second Miss Botswana to win the Miss World Africa title after Emma Wareus. During the competition, she won the 200m race and placed second in the beep challenge. She also made it to the top 10 semi-finalists in the beauty with a purpose category
Six months after being crowned Miss World Africa, 26-year old Lesego Chombo has landed a ministerial post . Her appointment as the new Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs as she did not only become the youngest minister in the nation’s history, but also stands as a beacon of hope and empowerment for youth across Africa.
Lesego Chombo, a dedicated lawyer, has built her career on a foundation of justice and equality. Her legal work has prominently focused on championing the rights of women, youth, and other marginalised communities. This commitment to equitable opportunities has positioned her as an exemplary role model for aspiring young professionals and leaders.
Beyond her legal accomplishments, Lesego embodies confidence, intelligence, and grace; qualities that redefine modern leadership. These qualities earned her two awards in August from Women´s Awards Botswana, an event that honours extraordinary and inspirational women who have demonstrated excellence in leading, motivating, and developing others in their careers and overall way of life.
As the newly appointed Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs, Lesego’s vision, she prioritised empowering young people to actively shape Botswana’s future.
