Music Review- 'O itshoke' by Baetsana Trio
Author : Lesego Bogatsu
Artist: BAETSANA TRIO
Album: O ITSHOKE
Produced by: BAETSANA TRIO
Recorded at: BULLET MUSIC PRODUCTIONS
The trio has to make a grand entrance. They do the Afro music thing nicely, coming with a large and anthemic vibe, perfectly set up by these siblings. They declare to collectively seize the moment own it, for victory is waiting for them with arms open wide.
Listening to O Itshoke is like listening to the theme song from good Afro-pop sensations, the likes of Ashley Gops. with a severed corpus callosum. These aren`t guys hiding behind the anonymity afforded by African print (mateisi) costumes, these are dudes in a bushy environment, wearing green German print outfits and blasting cacophanous African beats that could break glass like a fist. The facade and the illusion that shrouds Afro-Pop music was removed, and behind the veil was some loud but palatable music. This trio will thrill you for a long time if you can give them a benefit of doubt. ENDS
