Trust in Your Inherent Gifting

Author : Russ Molosiwa

Once you know your authority and recognise its uniqueness and the important contribution it brings to others, you have to trust it.

Trusting in your inherent gifting, we`re trying to do something else.  For example, some people are attempting to undetake business ventures that they weren`t born to do.

These ventures are going to be harmful for them.  By the time they realise they have failed and life has beaten them up, they should figure out the principal leaders of the fledgling church.

Yet Andrew gets the credit for encouraging Peter to meet Jesus in the first place.

Everyone has a vital role.  Let me, therefore, encourage you not to be a counterfeit but to trust in and exercise your unique gift.

There are too many counterfeits in the world today. Power is not synonymous with authority.  Authority is not a greater strength that is able to subdue others. Power is the capacity to move something by force or energy, whether it is an object, an idea, or a person.

It is the ability to cause, activate, initiate, transform, or impact. Power can be exercised through position, knowledge, strength, force, integrity, influence, personality or threats. Authority is always sanctioned, or authorized. Power can be illegitimate, or unauthorised.

It can be used to harm other people. It can be used to bully. Power is merely energy and ability but authority is permission and right to use power.  Power without authority is energy without authorisation: it is illegal force.

Key to success is using authorised power.  Acting with authority empowers and protects people. Authority converts power into service. The concept of the “boss spirit” is related to power but its main attribute is the abuse of position through manipulation.  The word manipulation is defined as “to control or play upon by artful, unfair, or insidious means.

The boss spirit is the idea that having authority means you can take advantage of people, order them around at will, and get them to do what you want through coercion. When someone in a leadership position they embrace this false idea of authority, they engage in actions that intimidate, discriminate, exploit, oppress, suppress, and abuse people.

Jesus Christ, the greatest teacher of all time once said; “he who has ears, let him hear ‘(Matthew 11:15).

He was separating people who simply listen to information from those who understand it.  Remember what I said when we started this topic of AUTHORITY: When you understand a thing it becomes yours.

So, I have no doubt that all the information that we have examined in all the issues of Kutlwano will assist you to play a significant role in the life of Batswana. Now it is time for you to set principles that will assist you to act in your authority.

Facts will always submit to principles when principles show up, but if you have facts without principles, facts are going to control your life.

Life is complicated only to a man ignorant of principles, for principles are designed to simplify life. Principles are permanent.

Principles protect. Principles preserve. Principles contain inherent judgment. Principles cannot be broken; rather, you break yourself on them. Principles are independent of culture, race or creed.

Obedience to principles guarantees success. ENDS
