Are you happy in life?

We all want successes in life. Yet majority of us are still failures or are at mediocrity stage in life.

You can doa lot in life and get away with it.  You can run with the wrong crowd and still be famous in your village.

You can treat people disrespectfully or be sloppy in your business affairs and still live in relative comfort.

This is not what I Mokanoki want to talk about in this issue, I want to talk about rising higher. Being the very best you can be.

Many people wonder why they`re not happy in life, why they are not blessed and increasing in influence, why they can`t sleep well at night. Motho wa teng o lala abetika o kare noga e e polaya mala

Often it is because their conscience is not clear.

Monna o jewa ke se a se jeleng. We cannot bury things in our subconscious minds and expect to rise higher and enjoy God`s best.

When King David in the bible committed adultery with Bathsheba, he tried to cover it up.

Making matters worse, he sent Bathsheba`s husband, Uriah, to the front lines of the battle and then ordered his general to pull back; resulting in Uriah`s certain death.

For one full year, David pretended that everything was okay; he went on with life and business.

No doubt, he thought, If I don`t deal with it, if I ignore it, it won`t bother me; it won`t affect me.

Does that not sound familiar to you? How many wrong or evil things are covered or concealed in your heart? Are you living well?

That year was one of the worst of David`s life.  He was miserable.

Scripture says he was also weak; he grew sick physically and had all kinds of problems.

That is what happens when we refuse to deal with things.  We step out of God`s protection and favour. When we live with a guilty conscience, we don`t feel good about ourselves, so we take it out on other people.

Many times, just like David, we`re weak, defeated, living in mediocrity.  It`s because of the poison on the inside.

But, friend, none of us needs to live that way.  Our God is a forgiving, merciful God.  When you make a mistake, you don`t have to hide it.  When you do wrong, don`t run away from God.  Run to God.

After a year living in denial, King David finally admitted his sin and his mistakes after a prophet confronted the king about his misdeeds.  David said, “God, I`m sorry.

Please forgive me.  Create in me a clean heart.  Restore the joy of my salvation.”  When David sincerely did that, God restored him.

That`s how David got his joy, peace, and victory back.  Although he had failed miserably, he went on to do great things.

Now think about it:  David could have been stuck right there in defeat, in mediocrity, for the rest of his life had he refused to deal with that issue.

But he chose to change, and God helped him  do it.

Are there things in your life that you are refusing to deal with?  When you ask for forgiveness, God can restore you.  That`s when He`ll put you back on your best path.  That`s when He`ll give you a new beginning.

Keep in mind, God deals with each of us individually.  We are all at different levels, so we should never compare ourselves to others.

Too often, when we compare ourselves with others, we tend to make excuses for ourselves.

For instance, maybe all your friends are going to watch a movie, but you read the review and don`t feel good about it.

You know it would not be God`s best for you.  Your inner alarm goes off, and your conscience cautions you, You are better than that; don`t willingly take dirt into your mind.

What I`m trying to say to you in simple language is that there is an opportunity for you to rise higher.

Sure, you could attempt to quiet your conscience and say, “Oh, it`s not going to hurt me.  I`m strong, and besides, all my friends love God.

They attend church.  They`re good people.

They`re going to see that movie.”

No, maybe your friends are at a different stage in their spiritual walk than you.

Or perhaps they are ignoring God`s voice speaking to them: maybe they would be much more blessed if they quit giving in and living at such a low level.

You must do what you feel good about in your own heart.  It may cost you a few friendships.  It may mean that you spend a few lonely nights.  Or maybe you can`t play on a team that  parties after every game.

Remember that anything God asks you to do is for your benefit.  It`s so He can ultimately release more of His favour into your life.

Moreover, anything God asks of us, He always gives the grace to do it.

If God asks you to forgive somebody, you may not think you can, but if you take that step of faith, God`s grace will be there to help you.  You don`t get the grace unless you step out.  You have to make the first move.

God will see that step of faith, and He`ll give you supernatural strength to help you overcome any obstacles standing in the way of doing the right thing.

Have a nice day yours faithfully Mokanoki. Ends
