I get this occasional thought, which reminds me that we are ALL just human, trying to get through this life.

Everyone’s waiting for their big break, or their survival kit, or some surety and we are just making it through this lifetime and we surely aren’t getting out alive.

We will come and go and others will too, why would a human being ever think it’s okay to make another human being’s life difficult?

Just what do you gain from being a lousy Human being? When you look at a stranger in the shopping mall, pushing a trolley full of groceries, they just want to ensure their family is taken care of; a bus driver trying to get everyone home after a long day of ‘life’; a child in uniform carrying a backpack full of homework and walking home from school; a homeless person begging for the next meal, hoping the next stranger will be less judgemental.

Then there’s that man/woman whose trying their best at work but always passed over by those whose matchless standards and resumes must have fallen from heaven!! Then there’s that woman who bears the brunt of pitiful stares at the gym, which inaudibly ask, why she would let herself go like this!!

People come in so many shapes and sizes, complexions, degrees of wit, which, if looked at through the lens of humanity, should evoke a deep sense of gratitude, awe and wonder.

How God decided you would look the way you do, talk the way you do, have an aura about you that no one can put into words, is really a mystery even the greatest minds can’t fully explain away.

Even with this, perhaps our own flawed human nature would dictate otherwise.

We look at other women and men, with an entitlement to having an opinion about them, we hold self-given unreserved admission and rights into their personal spaces, no permission granted, like we are ‘God’!

Fat or skinny shaming, bullying in the workplace, should be criminal offenses! I think it’s hard enough people must carry burdens no one sees, some a written in the visible scars on our body, others are hidden in the wrinkles under our eyes, or steal away at beautiful smiles, turning them into painful expressions.

Life throws curveballs and storms our way and we sometimes look like we are well put together, until someone says or does something, which completely throws us off.

Why do you talk to someone like that or treat another that way? Like they are suddenly subhuman to you, are they not as equally human?

People’s actions or words essentially shouldn’t hold so much power over anyone, but the nature of ‘lousy humans’ is that their intention is to break.

Those who are victims to body shamers live in their own bodies, they see themselves in the mirror every day, they are used to what they see, why can’t you!!

It’s a part of themselves they have accepted or struggling to embrace, due to medical, congenital or possibly other circumstantial factors they don’t owe you an explanation for!!

But your words make them feel like there’s something wrong with them and they should therefore be constantly reminded of their worth or lack, through your lens.

The other matter in question is workplace bullying! Whatever rank or position of office one holds is not permission to abuse those they deem beneath them.

If our remuneration packages were calculated based on the level of respect we hold in our hearts for, or the honour we afford other people in the workplace, how much would your salary be?

Some people have unfortunately turned workplaces into their own territories, which they occupy the highest titles and unlimited powers.

Next time you talk down at someone or pass them over, or disfavour them and deny them due elevation, then just know you are a lousy human being, and there are many other names we can call you!

Just because YOU think so, doesn’t make it right! So if you intimidate others, steal promotions or sabotage others all in the name of getting ahead. Again, I ask; Just what do you gain from being a ‘lousy’ Human being?

This article is meant to allow readers to digest and introspect, not from any self-righteous position or self-condemning one, but from a place of wanting to become a better human being.

We may live in a supposed realist world where human interests take centre stage, but there is so much room in this world for ALL of us to shine our light brightly, so much kindness to spread around and so much life to be lived.

We are all in on a race we can’t pause, stop, fast-track or wind back and aren’t getting out alive, we might as well do the most natural and God-given thing, which is to love.

And if life has dealt you an unkind hand and you live one of payback, then ask the one, who created heaven and earth and you to heal your heart and teach you to love.

And to you my avid, Reality hub reader… Pleas pray for lousy Human Beings, pray that they would have a repentant spirit and if they are unwilling, for Gods justice to prevail for the sake of His own. ENDS
