I can’t find a job, what should I do?
I am a thirty year old woman and I live in Mmaphashalala. I graduated five years back in Bachelors of Marketing and I lost my job three years ago after the company I was working for closed. I have been job hunting ever since, been to career fairs, applied for jobs and registered with different sites and still haven’t found anything. Where I live it's really hard to find a job, I don't know what to do and what worries me most is that I have bills to pay. I have been called for interviews and none has been fruitful. I am really frustrated that I might become unemployable and no one will ever be interested in hiring me. Mmamalome I am desperate, what can I do?

Setlogolo, I understand your pain. Finding employment is quite hard. However we must not only look for jobs as someone’s employee. There are programmes that government has set up to help people create jobs for themselves and others. Such include CEDA, Young Farmers Fund and other youth empowerment schemes. I suggest you contact the nearest youth office to enquire about such programmes. Also register yourself with agencies that help graduates to find employment.
